Balance: "BOSU 1-2 Leg Standing"

BOSU: 2-Leg Standing Balance    BOSU: 1-Leg Standing Balance

Exercise Figure Tips: Start by stepping on and off then progress to maintaining balance on top with two feet then eventually balancing on one foot only.  Once you can control your balance on top of BOSU, you can progress to reactive ball tosses on top of the BOSU by having a partner toss you a tennis ball.  Have the partner progress to tossing the ball at different speeds in different places to increase the "reactive" challenge.  Ultimately you can work up to taking a shot from a weighted medicine ball toss or chest pass.  I use 2-4k medicine balls depending upon the balance threshold of client.

  • I also use BOSU Balance Drills with my mini-circuit training programs.  In-between strength stations, I have people step on and off the BOSU for a balance/cardio station before going to the next strength station.

  • See BOSU Exercises

*Note: This exercise is intended for "normal healthy" individuals.  If you have an injury, or abnormal pain is present,
see your physician or a certified physical therapist before continuing your exercises.
