Glenn Sundby (1921-2009)

I had the honor of interviewing one of the greats of Gymnastics and an original co-founder of Muscle Beach Mr. Glenn Sundby in November 2002. I interviewed Glenn for my master's thesis at CSU Northridge in Sport & Exercise Psychology. I interviewed him and Jack LaLanne because of their life-long commitment to the promotion of physical fitness and health. They were truly inspirational to generations.  It was one of the greatest days of my life with Glenn. He changed me forever.

Glenn graciously gave me one of his vintage handstand photos that day after the interview.  As I write this entry today, his photo and fitness strength look over my desk warming my spirit and motivating me to continue his work as a "Physical Culturist."  Glenn told me his favorite autograph inscription was to sign his photos with "Have a Happy Handstand" since he was known throughout the world as a handstand expert.  So here's to you Glenn...have a "Happy Handstand" my fitness friend.
