"Fit for Life" Nutrition Mini-Lessons "Don't dig your own grave
with your own knife and fork."
"Beginning a lifetime of health today!" Each daily session begins with a two-minute "mini" nutrition lesson. We want the children to associate good eating habits along with daily physical activity in relation to health and well-being. While Fit for Life is a "physical activity" program, it is also a "wellness program" so we cannot neglect the importance of good nutrition. The challenge is to make the lessons simple but effective. Our lessons need to be given outside on the playground with no whiteboard, overheads, or other instructional aids as these are not available. Many of our children do not yet associate food with health. If we can just get in the children's heads to start "thinking about" eating well to improve their health this would be a great start!
